Fatal crash - Piarere - Waikato

Emergency services are at the scene of a fatal crash on State Highway 1 at Piarere in the South Waikato District. Police were alerted to the crash at 8:25 pm after a car rolled near Tirau Road. The car came to rest upside down in a drain.

One person died at the scene and the Fire Service are working to rescue another person trapped in the car. Traffic control is in place at the scene, and the Police Serious Crash Unit will investigate the cause. No further information about the crash or the victims is currently available
