Pool closed for summer maintenance programme
Pool closed for summer maintenance programme
It's safe to say summer is on its way when the dome at the Thames Centennial Pool comes down.
It may not feel like it yet, but an El Nino summer has been forecast which means a hot dry summer in store for the Coromandel. The pool will be closed over the school holidays, and though this may inconvenience a few, we'll appreciate a bright shiny maintained pool during summer.
Here is a list of the work that will be taking place:
• Remove and replace media in the sand filter
• Remove broken dive blocks and replace with new blocks
• Replace main valve in the plant room
• Erect pool fence around the toddler pool
• Fix and seal leak, replace filter media and replace broken filter pump in the toddlers pool
• Coat floor in changing shed with Terraflake
• Repaint changing sheds
• Replace lights with suitable IP 67 rated light covers
• Yearly maintenance on plant, boiler unit and pool
• Remove old heat pumps and tidy decommissioned pipes
• Touch up paint on buildings, fences, and pump shed
The pool will close 6pm Friday 25 September and re-open 6am Monday 12 October. The dome will be dropped on Saturday 26 September.
