FIREARM BURGLARIES

Invercargill Police are currently investigating two burglaries where firearms were taken.

Between the 11th and 15th of September 2015 a rural home near Riverton was broken into and eight firearms were stolen.

Also stolen were courier parcels, jewellery, power tools, a welder, water blaster and a lawn mower.

Between the 12th and 14th of September 2015 a south Invercargill home was also broken into and three firearms were stolen. Also taken was a large amount of hunting equipment and ammunition.

Police ask members of the public to report any suspicious activity which they observe.

If any members of the public who have any information in relation to these offences or any other dishonesty offending please contact the Invercargill Police Station at 211 0400.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

If anyone observes any suspicious behaviour please contact the Police immediately on 111.
