Getting on board to Keep NZ Beautiful

Getting on board to Keep NZ Beautiful

This Sunday 20 September business owners, community groups and Wellington City Council will work together to spring clean Left Bank in Cuba Mall as part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful week.

The team effort involves planting natives in the existing garden beds in partnership with Growing Places Charitable Trust. Helpers will also be collecting litter in the surrounding area and painting small bursts of colour.

Councillor Nicola Young, Central City Projects Portfolio Leader, says it’s important for everyone to do their bit in keeping Wellington clean, tidy and looking good.

“We are really looking forward to this opportunity to clean up Left Bank. It’s in the centre of Wellington’s busiest area, and that takes its toll, so it needs a bit of extra care and attention.”

Last year a total of 15,312 rubbish bags and 8850 recycling bags were collected as part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful week.
