BNZ opens new Small Business Hub in Hamilton

BNZ tomorrow opens a new Small Business Hub in Hamilton, creating 20 new jobs and boosting the support it offers small and medium sized businesses.

BNZ Director of Retail and Marketing Craig Herbison says, “BNZ has pledged to lend more than $1 billion to small and medium business owners looking to grow, expand or export in this financial year.

“This enhances BNZ’s additional investment in at least 50 more small business bankers across the country,” Mr Herbison says.

“SMEs account for around a third of New Zealand’s GDP and are the largest employer in the country. They’re the engine room of the economy and BNZ is committed to supporting SMEs day-to-day and at critical times in their growth,” he says.

BNZ’s Small Business Hubs ensure working for yourself doesn’t have to mean working by yourself.

“We wrap a network of support and specialist expertise around small businesses to make sure they have the best chance of success. BNZ’s Small Business Hubs provide practical assistance to help businesses be good with their money,” Mr Herbison says.

“At BNZ being good with money is inherent in what we do every day. It’s all about enabling a higher achieving New Zealand as the SMEs of today will be the large businesses of tomorrow and employ more people and contribute more to the economy,” he says.

“The Waikato is a rapidly growing area offering access to great talent so we’re pleased to open our new Small Business Hub in Hamilton,” Mr Herbison says.
