Cyclist attacked on Portsmouth Drive, Dunedin
At approx 3:30pm on Sat 5 Dec, a 45 year old female was riding her bike on Portsmouth Drive in direction of Portobello.
Around the area of The Molars, near the intersection of Strathallan she has accosted by an unknown male who shouted at her before grabbing her bike and punched her approximately 4 times in the right side of her body.
The male has then thrown the female still on her bike onto the grass verge of Porstmouth Drive.
The female has been screaming during this assault and two unknown males have come to her aid from a nearby parked car.
Police would like to speak with these good samaratians described as both Caucasian aged approx mid twenties.
As a result of their intervention the offender has run off in the direction of the Wharf.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, aged in his 40’s.
He was of solid build, Sandy blonde hair, unkempt, shoulder length, clean shaven.
He was wearing light coloured t shirt, with a large logo or picture on the front. Light blue jeans
