RotoruaNZ reaches 150,000 likes on Facebook

ROTORUA, 03 June 2016:

Destination Rotorua’s Facebook page has just reached 150,000 ‘likes’ making it the second largest destinational Facebook page in New Zealand with more ‘likes’ than Auckland and Wellington. It is also consistently in the top three most engaging pages in the domestic tourism space.

Destination Rotorua Consumer Marketing Manager Tom Worsp said the 150,000 milestone was a huge achievement.

He said it was testament to the hard work put in by the tourism industry in Rotorua, and a sign the domestic marketing campaign, Famously Rotorua, was having an impact in changing the way New Zealanders perceive Rotorua.

“Rotorua is an exciting, vibrant, high quality visitor destination for domestic and international tourists alike. Whilst Rotorua is already well known for Maori Culture and Geothermal wonders more and more visitors are discovering spa and wellness, mountain biking and its growing adventure products which are set in a unique natural environment dominated by lakes and forests. We try to reflect this in our social media and we’ve had a great response from the general public.

“We highlight some great deals, and engage with our fans on things like Fan Photo Fridays.”
