Brick Man Experience

Brick Man Experience

First Ever New Zealand Exhibition

Thursday 23rd June, 2016

There is only one LEGO® certified professional in the Southern Hemisphere, and his name is Ryan McNaught. Following four sell-out tours in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, Ryan is finally bringing his remarkable collection of 60 LEGO® works to Auckland and Hamilton.

New Zealand’s largest exhibition of LEGO® works features the complete collection by Ryan McNaught, including 60 original works made up from more than 5 million LEGO® bricks! Each model is presented with its own unique behind the scenes story, as well as interactive building zones.

“New Zealand has never welcomed a LEGO® exhibition anywhere near this scale before – it really is an unmissable event for all the family to enjoy!” said Ryan McNaught.

The works include Ryan’s biggest ever Star Wars LEGO® build, a model Airbus A380, a quarter scale LEGO® Ferrari and the world’s largest LEGO® flower.

In addition to Ryan’s pieces, works from other LEGO® Certified Professionals around the world will be displayed, based around the ‘Transport’ theme from their native country – a must see for all LEGO® fans.

“I am really excited that the Brick Man Experience is heading to Auckland these school holidays. All of my works will be displayed together in one place for people to enjoy – but you’ll need to be quick as they’re on display for a limited time only!

Ryan adds, “At the end of last year we took the exhibition to Brisbane and we were blown away by the response – it was our third tour, having already visited Melbourne and Sydney. The response in all three cities was incredible - kids, parents, grandparents, everyone, just loved it”

“I’ve also got a few exciting things for the kids (and big kids!) to participate in, so everyone can enjoy creating brick masterpieces as well as enjoying the exhibition. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

LEGO® bricks play a cherished role in childhoods across the globe – the beloved bricks have been around for over 50 years! Back in 2010, Ryan took his love for LEGO® to a whole new level by becoming the only LEGO® Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere – he now goes by the name of ‘The Brick Man’.

Proud to be one of only 14 LEGO® Certified Professionals in the world, and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere, Ryan ‘The Brick Man’ McNaught used to be a slave to the corporate world before trading in the boardroom for a LEGO® workshop!

Married with twin sons and based in Melbourne, Ryan’s greatest concern is that there are a whole lot of kids out there who want to take his job!

Gordon Campbell: On Rapid Antigen Testing

National Party leader Christopher Luxon is being allowed to get away with murder. Luxon is not being challenged over his repeated assertions that the rest of the world has enjoyed ready access to rapid antigen tests (aka RATS) for a year, so why aren’t we? In fact, the reality across the Tasman for the past month has seen a colossal shambles unfold over (a) the availability and (b) the affordability of these tests. RATS have become a case of panic buying on steroids. Amid reports of price gouging, stock-piling, socially inequitable access and empty shelves...
