ARL and Youthline continue to support players off the field

For immediate release

The Auckland Rugby League are pleased to announce that they have re-established their relationship with Youthline to continue their support in helping players both on and off the field.

The relationship will see Youthline resources and support systems implemented in ARL programmes including representative fixtures and school tournaments.

ARL are also looking at ways in which they can assist and support local rugby league clubs to ensure everyone is made aware of the services Youthline has to offer.

“We are very pleased to have re-established this relationship with Youthline who continue to do wonderful work in our community,” says Gordon Gibbons, board member of the Auckland Rugby League.

"Young people are the future of our game. We need to get the message out to our young players that no issue they are facing is too big to solve."

Youthline spokesperson Stephen Bell says the partnership with Auckland Rugby League has proven to be beneficial to both parties.

"It's important for players, their friends and family to understand that there is a place where they can get support and guidance, in a respectful way."

"This partnership is a collaborative leadership opportunity to challenge and change the culture around help-seeking.

"Our relationship with ARL gives us the opportunity to reach out to the rugby league community, and support young players to achieve their potential, on and off the field."
