Hutt Valley Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing their investigation into an incident at a Delaney Drive address on Monday 26 September where a 36-year-old man was seriously assaulted by two men.

The victim remains in the ICU at Wellington Hospital in a critical condition with a fractured skull and other injuries.

Hutt Valley Police have a team of 20 working on the investigation, including Environmental Science and Research (ESR) staff.

The address where the assault took place is undergoing a scene examination and investigators are speaking to residents at neighbouring properties.

Police have identified a person of interest they wish to speak to about the incident and believe he may be able to assist with the inquiry.

He is 36-year-old David Haddon from Wainuiomata.

Police ask Mr Haddon to contact the Hutt Valley CIB as soon as possible on (04) 560 2600.

Police are still appealing for any witnesses who may have information on this assault or anyone who saw a light coloured vehicle leaving the area around the time of the assault.

In addition, Police ask anyone who may have noticed a black Mitsubishi Legnum around Stokes Valley and Wainuiomata over the last few days to come forward.

Anyone with any information on Mr Haddon or these vehicles can make a report by calling the Hutt Valley Police Station.

Alternatively, anonymous information can be reported via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
