"Fatal crash near Clevedon, Auckland"
A person has died in a crash which occurred on North Road, approximately five kilometres north of Clevedon, Auckland.
The car crashed into a tree at approximately 11:40am this morning killing one occupant and injuring the second.
That person is currently being treated at the scene by ambulance.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance and the road has been closed.
Diversions are in place at the Clevedon roundabout and Maraetai Coast Road.
Police ask drivers to avoid travel in the area if possible and to expect some delays.
