Central District Police are urging motorists to drive carefully this morning as surface flooding and heavy rain make difficult driving conditions.
The weather is causing particular concern on State Highway 3 between Palmerston North and Whanganui, and on State Highway 1 between Bulls and Hunterville.
Police ask motorists to increase their following distances, keep their speed down and remain alert.
