"Police appeal for witnesses following sexual assault"

Nelson Police are seeking the public’s help to locate an offender following a sexual assault in Toi Toi, Nelson.

At approximately 3:40pm on Friday 7 October a woman was indecently assaulted by a man who talked his way into her address saying he needed to use the toilet.

He then left the property on foot and Police have been unable to locate him so far.

The offender is described as Maori or Pacific Islander, is a teenager, 5’8” and of slim build.

He is clean shaven and has short dark hair with bleach blonde tips.

The man was wearing a long black jacket to thigh length.

Police are working closely with the victim following the assault.

Police is keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can help them identify this person.
