"Fatal crash at Matamata Aerodrome "

A man has died at Matamata Aerodrome following the crash of a light motorised aircraft.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 11:15am on Tuesday 18 October 2016.

The man was the only occupant of the aircraft at the time of the crash and the cause is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority. 

Police's thoughts are with his family.
