1000 Band at the Kilbirnie Festival, Sun 26 Feb
If you've ever seen one of those Youtube videos where a thousand people with guitars and drums perform an epic version of a hit song and thought you'd love to be a part of a band that big, here's your chance! The Kilbirnie Festival is hosting New Zealand's first-ever attempt at a thousand-member band, at noon on Sunday 26 February.
In what may be a New Zealand record Bandmates Wanted advertisement, the organisers are looking for 1000 (or more) guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists with enthusiasm and their own gear to rehearse and perform the Kiwi Classic "Why Does Love" by The Exponents, alongside one of the first songs to spawn the 1000-member band craze, Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly".
If you're keen to become part of New Zealand rock history, visit the Kilbirnie Festival website for more details, and be sure to register here.
