Police and emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident on Main Road in Clifton where a car has gone off the road and into the water.
The car went off Main Road between Mulgans Track and Clifton Terrace.
At this stage it has not been confirmed how many people were in the car when it went into the water and the car is now submerged.
Traffic is being diverted and Police advise motorists to avoid the area where possible.
Serious Crash Unit have been notified.
