Maraetōtara Tree Trust is crowdfunding $25,000 with Million Metres Streams thanks to many, including Kiwibank, Jucy Rentals and Alsco ... The bid has been very successful and the opportunity to contribute is open for a few more days.

Maraetōtara River Restoration
The 2002 founding trustees vision was a restored Maraetōtara River habitat and birds connector to Te Mata Park, Haumoana and Napier. Almost 50% of 43kms river length is now reserved, fenced and planted with native trees. Sister private and public initiatives are Cape Sanctuary and Cape to City.

Maraetōtara River Restoration Project

Maraetōtara Tree Trust is a registered charity formed in 2002, with the purpose: to protect, enhance, and restore all 43kms (86kms both sides), of the Maraetōtara River, from its headwaters at the top of the Maraetōtara Valley to the Pacific Ocean at Te Awanga beach. It's an important river corridor and habitat.
