A number of ice and snow warnings have now been resolved.

Severe Weather Warnings

• N/A

Road Snowfall Warnings - MetService

• Lindis Pass (SH 8) - Further snow showers are possible into the afternoon, and 1 to 2cm of snow could accumulate near the summit, especially around noon and early afternoon.
• Dunedin to Waitati Highway (SH 1) - Occasional snow showers are likely to affect the summit of the road into the afternoon. Until 4pm, 1 to 2cm of snow may accumulate on the road above 300 metres. However, there remains a low chance of heavier snowfalls between about 10am and 3pm Tuesday when up to 5cm of snow could accumulate.

State Highways - Warnings & Closures

• SH6 Lowther to Garston – Area warning for snow is now in place.
• UPDATE: SH85 Kyeburn to Palmerston – The area warning for snow and ice has now been lifted.
• UPDATE: SH94 Hollyford Valley Rd Intersection to Chasm Stream Bridge – The road is now clear and open to vehicles.
• UPDATE: SH6 Gibbston to Frankton – The area warning for ice has now been lifted.
• UPDATE: SH8 Lindis Pass – The area warning for snow has now been lifted.
• SH8 Twizel to Fairlie – Snow and Ice – Vehicle Restrictions have been lifted. Road users are advised to take extra care.
• SH80 – Aoraki Mt Cook to Ben Ohau – Snow and Ice – Winter driving conditions, road users are advised to take extra care.
• SH1 Hundalee to Kaikoura – Slips - The road closure south of Kaikoura between Pekata and Goose Bay is closed.
