" Community Patrol volunteer shot with a paintball gun - Christchurch"
Police are appealing for help to find whoever shot a Community Patrol volunteer with a paintball gun.
The Community Patrol volunteer was carrying out a routine patrol on Charlotte Jane Quay near the Naval Point launch ramps in Lyttelton when she was hit with a paintball at around 9.30pm on Friday the 8th of September.
She was
sitting in a car at the time with another volunteer and was
hit in the forehead through an open window.
Inspector
Richard Bruce, Area Prevention Manager Christchurch Metro,
says they are treating this matter extremely
seriously.
“Community Patrol volunteers do a great job for the community, and it’s not right this would happen. The volunteer was really shocked when this happened.”
“These volunteers give up their own time to help their communities and Police, it’s despicable that someone would do this.”
A black hatchback was seen leaving the area at the time.
Anyone who was in the area
at the time, or anyone with information is being urged to
contact the Christchurch Central Police on (03) 363
7400.
