Emergency services are responding to a crash on State Highway 1, Wairakei, which occurred at around 12.15pm.
A number of vehicles are reported to be involved and the road is blocked in both directions.
Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to drive with caution and follow signage.
There are no details as yet regarding injuries.
