"Fatal crash on Appleby Highway - road closed"
One person has died following a crash on the Appleby Highway (SH 60) in Tasman District.
Emergency services were called to the collision between a ute and a car, on the highway between Bartlett Road and Blackbyre Road, just after 9pm.
There is no indication at this stage of any other injured people.
The highway is closed and diversions will be in place.
The Serious Crash Unit will be attending the scene.
