Freyberg learner pool to reopen end of the month

Freyberg Community Pool is on track to reopen their popular learners pool on Monday 26 February.

The learner pool was closed due to repairs and has since been grouted, retiled and resealed. Community Leisure Management (CLM) will be refilling the pool on Sunday 25 February and get it heated to the required temperature.

“We appreciate the patience of the pool users and CLM. We’re on track for the pool to reopen for public use by the end of the month,” Leisure Assets Officer Glen Finlayson says.

“Safety is of paramount importance and we want to ensure all things are working as they were designed, we apologise for any inconvenience the temporary closure may have caused.” Mr Finlayson says.

All other facilities at the Freyberg Community Pool are operating as usual.

“We’d like to thank the public for their patience during this maintenance period. Our popular pre-school swimming and water safety classes will now transfer back to the learners pool,” Nathan Larnach Freyberg Community Pool Manager says.

“The learners pool gets a lot of use from both the local and wider community, so we’re really excited for it to be up and running again.” Mr Larnach says.
