"Serious crash on Tahaenui Bridge, near Wairoa"
Police are advising motorists to expect delays following a two vehicle crash on Tahaenui Bridge, near Wairoa this evening.
Police and emergency services attended the crash around 7:00pm.
Two people were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and one lane of the bridge is expected to be closed for some time.
The other lane is open and traffic control is in place.
