Information about the Waipaoa River
Friday, 7 September 2018, 4:41 pm
Press Release: Tairawhiti Civil Defence
The current modelling shows that the Waipaoa River
will peak at the 6.5-7.0m level at 7.00pm and stay at this
level for 12 hours before slowly going down.
This is well
below the level that Te Karaka is cut off and requires
evacuation however if more heavy rain is received then this
may change.
The rivers gauges in the upper Waipaoa
catchment have peaked and are now going
down.
