Organic Wine Festival 23rd of September, Queenstown
Organic Winegrowers New Zealand is proud to announce the
first annual Organic Wine Week, September 17-23, 2018. The
week incorporates the Southern Hemisphere spring equinox, a
time to celebrate the gifts of nature. Over 35 organic
wineries will participate in live events for Organic Wine
Week. Several of New Zealand’s top restaurants will host
dinners with organic winemakers sharing their wines in
person, plus many other events taking place from workshops,
tastings to a full Organic Wine Festival at Sherwood in
Queenstown to end the week of celebrations.
Sherwood has
collaborated with the team at Wine Sentience to create an
unforgettable celebration of organics with a Organic Wine
Festival on 23rd of September 2018.
Sherwood's Organic
Wine Festival will showcase 10 wineries, all of whom will be
on site to personally share their wines and reveal all their
secrets! In addition to complimentary tastings, the SOIF pop
up bar will have a selection of organic wine available for
purchase to accompany Sherwood's infamous Sunday roast lunch
and bbq offerings, plus live music. Completing the festival
vibe is live music and an organic market.
Organic Wine
Festival showcases some of the very talented New Zealand
organic vignerons: Pyramid Valley Vineyards (Waipara), Mount
Edward (Central Otago), Dog Point (Marlborough), Neudorf
(Nelson), Te Whare Ra Wines - TWR (Marlborough), Black
Estate (Waipara), Aurum (Central Otago), Quartz Reef
(Central Otago), Huia Vineyards (Marlborough) and Carrick
Winery (Central Otago).
This event is family friendly and
the ‘kids corner' will give parents the opportunity to
relax in the outdoor wine lounge.
There are also two
Masterclasses with Master of Wine Stephen Wong (ticketed
separately) of Wine Sentience on Sunday 23rd of September:
11.30AM: Fête Nat - a celebration of organic Pet Nat
around the world
3.00PM: Alpine Wine - Cool organic
wines from cool places
Stephen Wong is most likely the foremost expert on organic and natural wines in New Zealand. We are very privileged to have him join us for masterclasses with some amazing wines from around the world to taste.
The festival is part of New Zealand Organic Wine
Week official
programme.
