Two arrests and firearms seized
"Two arrests and firearms seized "
Two people were arrested and three unlawfully possessed firearms were seized at a Masterton address overnight.
Police became aware of drugs and firearms at the residential property while conducting unrelated enquiries.
“The two men in Police custody are associated with an organised criminal group, so it was extremely concerning to discover firearms at this address,” said Detective Sergeant Matt Wasson.
“Police continue to target organised criminal groups and the negative effect they have within our communities through disrupting their activity and holding offenders to account.”
Detective sergeant Wasson urged members of the public who have information on the possession of illegal firearms to contact their local Police station or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
