The Council’s ePlan goes live

The Kāpiti Coast District Council made it easier for people to navigate the District Plan online yesterday with the launch of the long-awaited and user-friendly ePlan.

Research, Policy and Planning Manager Nicki Williams says that the ePlan is a game-changer for how people can get to the information they need from the District Plan in the Kāpiti District.

“Having the District Plan available electronically on our website will make using it easier, more convenient, less time consuming, and a positive step toward simplifying the regulatory space for our community. As we’ve already seen through the introduction of ePlans in other areas like Porirua and Wellington, what used to take a lot of sifting through hundreds of pages can now be obtained with only a few simple steps.”

The ePlan helps people to access District Plan requirements for properties but does not replace the Land Information Memorandum (LIM report).

“Information about services like water, stormwater, and sewage isn’t available on the ePlan but can be found on our website’s GIS. Our consents team will still be ready to help with any development questions about people’s properties.”
