Police appeal for information on aggravated robbery

Please attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant, Glenn Baldwin, Investigations Manager: Western Area

Police are appealing for information following an aggravated robbery incident in Mount Roskill in Auckland.

A man was sitting in his parked car on Stranolar Drive about 10.30pm on November 23, when he was approached by another man and threatened with a knife.

The victim tried to run away but was punched in the face, with the blow fracturing his jaw.

The offender then detained the victim against his will and drove him around the streets of Mount Roskill, demanding cash and a credit card.

The offender made the victim go to his house and hand him over money.

Upon receiving the cash, the offender let the victim go and fled the scene.

The offender is described as being Maori or Pacific Islander, aged between 20 and 30 and of a strong build.

He is around 175 cm tall, clean shaven and has short, medium to dark coloured hair.

“We believe that the offender may have spoken to someone about this incident, and there are people out there who know the person involved,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin.

“If you think you may know this person or have any information that may assist our investigation please contact Detective Julia Bixley 021 1912833, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 .”
