Hamilton set for action-packed summer of events

13 December 2018

Hamilton is gearing up for one of its most exciting summers ever, with a string of quality events taking place in the city over the coming weeks.

With big names like Fatboy Slim, Nitro Circus, SKYCITY Breakers, HSBC NZ Sevens and the BLACKCAPS among the city’s event line-up, Hamiltonians no longer need to leave town to get their share of the summer event action says Sean Murray, Hamilton City Council’s General Manager of Venues, Tourism and Major Events.

Mr Murray says the city’s upcoming summer event line-up is a reflection of its growing reputation as a world-class events destination.

“The high calibre of our venues and our proven track record of delivering exceptional event experiences means Hamilton is now considered a major player when it comes to attracting top-quality events,” he says.

“It is exciting to see such a busy and diverse event schedule taking place in our city and region this summer, and I encourage everyone to get out there and make the most of the events on offer.”

Claudelands is kicking off its summer event calendar with comedy show 7 Days Live tonight, followed by the ABBA Show on Saturday and the city’s first ever regular season Australian NBL game between the SKYCITY Breakers v Illawarra Hawks on Friday, 21 December.
