Don’t get distracted on the road

"Don’t get distracted on the road"

“When you’re driving, things can change around you in a split second, and if you’re not paying attention you may not have time to react and avoid a crash,” says Superintendent Steve Greally, National Manager of Road Policing.

“Distraction can get you killed on the road.”

In 2017, 455 deaths and serious injuries were from crashes involving distraction and/or fatigue.

“Nobody wants to share the road with a driver who isn’t paying attention.

“When you’re driving, your focus should be on the road and getting everybody in your car to the destination safely.

“Keep your eyes on the road; not on your phone, your passengers, or your pets.

“Kids, help mum and dad out by not being too rowdy in the back seat.

Police’s second video with Wellington Paranormal is now live on New Zealand Police Facebook .

This time Minogue and O’Leary discuss why it’s important to pay attention on the road.
