What’s Open for Home Delivery Or Pick up This Christmas Day

20 December 2018 - If you don’t feel like a traditional Christmas feast, or just can’t be bothered cooking, Menulog has revealed top local restaurants open for delivery straight to your door on Christmas Day.

“Christmas is the one day of the year we go out of our way to spend time with friends and family and sharing a meal together is the best part of the day,” says Menulog Commercial Director Rory Murphy.

“As a company, we want to connect people and the food they love and our research shows that almost half of Kiwis order food to spend quality time with family and friends. Christmas Day shouldn’t be any different, especially with many local favourites open to deliver a range of cuisines, suited to any festive tastes” ”

If ordering in is on the menu this Christmas, it’s likely Indian will be popular with Menulog’s inaugural industry report revealing Indian food was the nation’s favourite, with Butter Chicken the most ordered dish.

For those with a hankering to spice up their Christmas meal, there are a number of restaurants that will be serving fresh yummy Indian food, including Gorka Kitchen in Glen Eden (Auckland) or if you’re further north you can check out Indian Fusion (Paihia) and in the capital why not give Masala Cafe and Bar (Wellington) a go for an easy dinner.

The Menulog Report found Hawaiian Pizza was the second most popular dish behind Butter Chicken - and speaking of pizza, on Christmas Day tear into a Veggie Delight or Beef Lovers pizza from City Pizza in Mt Roskill, Auckland. Pizza is perfect for sharing.

Lastly, The Kebabs (Dinsdale) will be serving up their delicious doner kebabs and pizzas to those in the Hamilton Area.
