Police have launched a homicide investigation after an incident in Motueka last night.

One person has died and a second person was taken to Nelson Hospital in a critical condition.

Police will conduct a scene examination at a property on Memorial Drive today.

Police are speaking to people located at the scene and are not looking for anyone else.
