Warning signs come down at Brown Bay beach
The water quality issues in Browns Bay have been resolved.
Pipes contributing to the problem have been repaired and
water quality testing has revealed the improved water
“Resolving the problem of the damaged
pipes and making Browns Bay safe to swim is good news. The
problem highlights the need for the big investment council
is making in improving infrastructure and stopping the
intrusion of stormwater into wastewater causing it to
overflow,” says Auckland Mayor Phil Goff.

Police Update: Five Confirmed Dead - Eight People Unaccounted For
Work has continued overnight to respond to the eruption on White Island. Enquiries with tour operators indicate that 47 people were on White Island at the time of the eruption. Police can now advise that in addition to the five people confirmed deceased, eight people remain unaccounted for following the eruption. More>>
