AT Acknowledges High Court Judgment In All Aboard Aotearoa Incorporated v Auckland Transport & Others

AT Board Chair Adrienne Young-Cooper:

Auckland Transport is acknowledging the judgment issued today by the High Court which dismissed the legal challenge taken against Auckland’s Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP).

We note that the judgment has found the information prepared by Auckland Transport staff could be relied on for robust decision making by Auckland Transport’s Board and Auckland Council’s Planning Committee.

Today’s judgment means that Auckland Transport can continue with a 10-year work programme as set out in the RLTP to build a more sustainable, safe, resilient and productive transport network for Tāmaki Makaurau.

There is no doubt that climate change is an extraordinarily important issue for Auckland to address, and that much work is needed to reduce our transport emissions.

Auckland Transport remains committed to reducing Auckland’s transport emissions and working to drive change which helps Aucklanders make more sustainable transport choices.
