Death in custody – Gisborne

Police are making enquiries on behalf of the Coroner following a death in custody at Gisborne Police Station overnight.

A person was found deceased in a cell by police staff this morning.

The cause of death will be a matter for the Coroner to determine, and the IPCA have been notified.
