Weather Live: Power Cuts, Ferries Cancelled As Thunder Sweeps Over Auckland

Three Air New Zealand regional aircraft were struck by lightning earlier today and are being reviewed by engineering teams to ensure they are safe to fly, the airline says.

General manager for airports Kate Boyer says they have been keeping a close eye on the weather.

Twenty-four regional services were cancelled, and the customers are being put on the next available service to get them to their destinations.
