Accused Considered Disposal Methods, Alleges Crown

Auckland High Court has heard how a south Auckland man allegedly considered a number of ways of getting rid of his wife’s body.

John Federici (34) is on trial for the murder of his wife Jennifer in September last year.

The Crown alleges Federici strangled 27-year-old Jennifer Federici during a violent fight in the bedroom of the couple’s Onehunga home.

Federici, an Australian citizen but New Zealand psychology student, considered a number of ways of disposing of the body, including dismembering it.

Crown prosecutor Simon Moore says Federici placed his wife’s body in a large glory box and later transferred it to a green wheelie rubbish bin. The Crown says one of the couple’s children was with Federici while he drove around looking for a place to dispose of the body.

The case continues.
