Del Monte Fresh Produce Receives ISO-9002 Certification

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Aug. 24 RNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- Del Monte Fresh Produce (Asia Pacific) Limited today announced that its Philippines technical research and export services operation has received the ISO-9002 certification for its Quality Management Systems (QMS), from the Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

"I am proud of our Philippines operation for completing the rigorous third-party audit against the requirements of the International Quality Management System Standard 9002 and for earning the distinction of being the only Philippines certified ISO- 9002 banana and pineapple export service operation servicing the Asia-Pacific region," said Randolph Breschini, Del Monte Fresh Produce's Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.

There are many benefits for the Company to establish an ISO-9002 certified QMS, most importantly the Company has been able to redesign its processes to better and more efficiently meet customer requirements. The audit covered every aspect of our business, including grower technical support services, inspection services, shipping coordination services, purchasing services and production estimating.
