HONG KONG, Sept. 11 /HK PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- AsiaLogic.com Limited (AsiaLogic) today launched Asia's first online procurement system that intelligently matches buyers and sellers of Information Technology and other business services. AsiaLogic is a member of Sun Microsystems' iForce community.

At the launch news conference, AsiaLogic announced a partnership with Asia2B.com, which is a joint-venture formed by eight prominent enterprises in Hong Kong and Silicon Valley, including i-Cable, SUNeVision, Jardine Matheson Group, New World China Enterprises, Swire Group, WI Harper Group, Beijing Enterprises Holdings and Commerce One.

AsiaLogic provides a dynamic procurement system that streamlines the search for the ideal business service provider. Utilizing AsiaLogic's web-based Request for Quote (RFQ) platform, corporate buyers submit the specifications of their service requirements online. These RFQ's are automatically matched with the most suitable vendors, who respond with customized price quotes. To further assist buyers with the vendor evaluation process, AsiaLogic features an interactive Seller Rating System that enables buyers to assess the service quality of vendors prior to selection and commitment.

"Companies of all sizes today are relying more and more on third-party service providers to satisfy their business needs," said Benjamin Kao, COO of AsiaLogic. "However, because of the inefficiencies of the traditional procurement process, as much as 25% of total project time is spent on vendor selection. AsiaLogic's RFQ system streamlines the services procurement process, enabling Asian companies to save time and money."

AsiaLogic's RFQ procurement system enables companies to access a wide range of business service categories, including IT services, Internet services, computer hardware and software, business consulting, personnel services, and sales, marketing & creative services. To date, over 1,500 vendors have registered to participate in AsiaLogic's marketplace, including world-class companies such as Automated System (HK) Ltd., Diyixian.com Ltd., and PacificLink iMedia Ltd. AsiaLogic's strategic partnership with Asia2B (global B2B leader Commerce One's Global Marketsite Partner for the Greater China region) will exploit the synergies that exist between Asia2B's expertise in providing e-commerce solutions for B2B communities and AsiaLogic's Pan-Asian business services marketplace infrastructure.

"We see a unique proposition from AsiaLogic in bringing intelligence to the process for procuring complex solutions and services. By leveraging their procurement intelligence engine and our MarketSite platform, we are bringing tremendous value to Asia2B's trading communities." said Ronno Lee, Chief Operating Officer of Asia2B. "AsiaLogic offers the first intelligent procurement solution for business services in the region. Asia2B is the premier provider of procurement platforms for enterprises across Asia," said Sophia Chen, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaLogic. "This partnership allows us to exploit our first-mover advantage, and build out a robust exchange in collaboration with Asia2B and the Global Trading Web."

AsiaLogic's experienced management team comes from Hutchison Whampoa, Global Sources, UUNET, Goldman Sachs, Priceline.com, Sarah Lee, Fujitsu, ACNielsen, and TradeEasy
