Dairy Farmers of New Zealand Council Meeting 13-15 February 2001
Flock House, Bulls
Dairy Farmers of New Zealand, an industry group of Federated Farmers invites all media representatives to attend the 2001 Dairy Farmers of New Zealand Council Meeting. The meeting which is being held at Flock House, Bulls commences at 3.00 pm on 13 February and will finish at 3.00 pm on Thursday 15 February.
The keynote speaker on Tuesday 13 February is Prof Neil Quigley, Dean of Commerce and Administration at Victoria University, Wellington. Prof Quigley will be speaking on the competition aspects involved in the formation of Global Dairy Company.
Workshops will be held on Wednesday 14 February on organic dairy farming, the industry's approach to environmental issues and on the Global Dairy Company. These sessions are closed to the media.
On Thursday 15 February 2001, the Hon Jim Sutton will address the meeting. There will be sessions on employment and education in dairying as well as consideration of issues such as the impact on dairying of current economic conditions, dairy's contribution to tourism, and sharemilking contracts. These sessions are open to the media unless the Council considers on the day to go into closed session.
