Chairman-designate

John Roadley is the chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board and the chairman-designate of Global Dairy Company.

John was chairman of Alpine Dairy Products and led that company’s successful merger with Southland Dairy Co-operative to form South Island Dairy Co. When that company later merged with the New Zealand Dairy Group, John became a director and later deputy chairman of the Dairy Group. John is also a director of Dairying Research Corp and the Ashburton Enterprise Agency.

John grew up on a dairy farm near Maungaturoto, north of Auckland, where he began farming himself. In 1980, he and his wife Lois, moved south buying a 149 hectare property near Ashburton. Growth and acquisitions over the last 20 years have seen Roadley Farms moving towards 1,000 hectares split into three farms and 2,200 cows.

John and Lois have two sons, a doctor and a dairy farmer.
