Larry Fergusson Appointed Acting CEO MAF
MEDIA STATEMENT FROM THE DEPUTY STATE SERVICES COMMISSIONER
Acting chief executive appointment: Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry The Deputy State Services Commissioner, Ross Tanner, announced today that Larry Fergusson had been appointed the acting chief executive of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the acting Director-General of Agriculture and Forestry.
Mr Fergusson takes up the acting role following the retirement of the chief executive and Director-General, Professor Bruce Ross. Professor Ross's retirement is effective from today, Monday, 30 April. Mr Fergusson is currently an Assistant Director-General in the Ministry.
Mr Fergusson will be in the acting role until such time as the State Services Commissioner appoints a permanent chief executive to the Ministry.
Mr Fergusson has worked in the Ministry since 1985. He was the director of legal services for the Ministry. In 1994 he was appointed an Assistant Director-General. In that role, he has overall responsibility for policy advice provided by the Ministry.
