MEDIA RELEASE

CommSoft Announces LAN 1 as New Distribution Partner for NetMaster Software

Auckland, 27 July 2001 - CommSoft Group Limited (ASX/NZSE: CSG) today announced a distribution agreement with LAN 1 Distribution, New Zealand’s leading networking specialist. The appointment comes as CommSoft prepares an extensive marketing programme for its Internet monitoring software, NetMaster. LAN 1 will be the sole distributor for NetMaster in New Zealand.

NetMaster is CommSoft’s web management product, designed to monitor and categorise employee time and frequency spent on particular sites on the Internet. The latest version introduces many significant new features, offering users the ability to access Internet usage information from anywhere via a standard browser interface and analyse usage by workstation and individual.

CommSoft needed a distribution partner with the knowledge and experience to ensure NetMaster achieves its full potential as a leader in the fast growing market for Internet monitoring tools. “The appointment of LAN 1 reflects CommSoft’s commitment to take NetMaster to new and existing customers by providing the necessary channels for growth,” says Mark Lunt, Group Managing Director, CommSoft. “The LAN 1 team has established a reputation for introducing new products to market very quickly, enjoying considerable success in consistently identifying and bringing winning technologies to their customers over the past decade.”

“As ADSL proliferates into the mainstream for small to medium sized businesses, a product like NetMaster is critical in encouraging the adoption of internal monitoring tools - it is not a blocking product and does not deny Net access which, as we’ve

seen, only serves to limit productivity. NetMaster is unique in its market as it truly “lives on the web’, is much simpler to install and use and, with its focus on simple yet comprehensive reporting, is suited to organisations of all sizes, not just the big corporates with large IT teams. CommSoft has developed a product that empowers both management and employees in all kinds of businesses to act responsibly when bringing the Internet to desktops,” says Liam Venter, General Manager, LAN 1.

“NetMaster is about building trust within an organisation, offering control and transparency and reducing liability issues for both parties. The latest release has some great new features and provides a payback period of 2-4 months, post-purchase. We are thrilled to be introducing such a timely and significant product to our dealer team.”

“The LAN 1 team has the experience and commitment required to ensure NetMaster meets its key market objectives,” continues Mark Lunt. “With over 10 years experience in aggressive channel marketing and long term relationships with a significant customer base, CommSoft sees LAN1 as a true value-added distributor.”

Key Features

The latest version of NetMaster incorporates four significant advances in capabilities:

- “Follow that user” technology - the ability to track usage by user, not by workstation

- The ability to run reports remotely from any web browser

- Website categorisation and reporting in 15 categories

- Monitoring of chat-rooms and gaming sites

Pricing and availability

NetMaster is available immediately from selected LAN 1 dealers. CommSoft and LAN 1 have also launched their partnership with extremely attractive introductory pricing, enabling companies with 20 desktops or less to achieve a very rapid payback on their NetMaster investment.
