Value of Building Work Put in Place: June 2001 quarter

Increase in Non-Residential Construction

The seasonally adjusted value of all building work put in place increased by 6.4 per cent in the June 2001 quarter, according to Statistics New Zealand. This was driven almost entirely by a 14.8 per cent increase in the seasonally adjusted value of non-residential work put in place.

The seasonally adjusted value of work put in place for residential buildings showed little change in the June 2001 quarter.
