New Look Town Centre for Auckland’s Eastern Suburbs
Residents in the Eastern suburbs will see the first changes to the Pakuranga Town Centre with today’s unveiling of a range of new specialty shops and a new 500-seat food eatery comprising ten new food outlets. Two new restaurants are also due to open prior to Christmas.
National Manager Communications, Sue Warren, said after five months and $12 million dollars of investment, the local community will find their old shopping precinct hard to recognise.
“Westfield Shoppingtown Pakuranga has always been the centre of the local community and this refurbishment ensures that residents have a truly world class boutique shopping environment in the heart of the Eastern suburbs.
“There’s been a substantial upgrade to Aylesbury Street, the connecting road through the precinct, which is now landscaped and paved. Inside the Centre there are significant changes to the retail and leisure offer for shoppers.
“Stirling Sports and Mississippi will introduce new concept stores, while other additions to the Centre are Bliss, Budget Travel, Wisk, Southern Exchange, Pascoes, Hartleys, Mark Richard, Janssen’s Continental Delicatessen, Gifted, Eden’s Lingerie, plus a BNZ Bank.
“In all during this first phase of the ongoing refurbishment there will be 57 lifestyle and fashion retailers as well as 12 new food premises including Starbucks.
“Westfield New Zealand would like to thank retailers and shoppers for their patience and support during the refurbishment.”
Sue Warren said in line with the "new look" Pakuranga, Westfield New Zealand is offering the community a workshop programme with a range of topics and well known speakers such as Alison Holst, Ruud Kleinpaste and Genevieve Westcott. There will also be entertainment for children throughout the weekends leading up to Xmas.
Westfield New Zealand will continue to complete the Centre by the end of November ready for Christmas.
