Kiwibank.co.nz Website Launched

Kiwibank has launched its website at www.kiwibank.co.nz.

Kiwibank Chief Executive Sam Knowles said the website represented the first step towards an Internet banking channel for the new bank, providing information and allowing potential customers to register their interest online.

"The full suite of secure Internet banking functions will be added to the website when Kiwibank begins trading early next year.

"Once complete, the website will firmly establish Kiwibank as a modern, direct bank with an extensive and convenient retail network."

Mr Knowles said the Kiwibank website was designed and built with brand communications agency Maxim Group.

"The task we set Maxim was to translate Kiwibank's branding into a web environment with a clear focus on ease of use.

"The result is a site with a simple, fresh and very New Zealand look and feel that is entirely consistent with Kiwibank's branding."

The website also includes financial information in the form of a Key Financial Summary published under Reserve Bank requirements for quarterly disclosure statements. As was discussed at the announcement of Shareholder approval in February, Kiwibank is not expected to return profits during its start-up phase in the first few years.

The Kiwibank website is constructed using active server pages, is built on a Microsoft Windows platform and runs on IBM xSeries server hardware.
