London Street New Waikato Base For NZMP

Friday 21 December 2001 For Immediate Release

London Street New Waikato Base For NZMP

NZMP is to centralise key parts of its business at its London Street office in Hamilton, NZMP managing director Chris Moller announced today.

The decision to retain the office, formerly known as Anchor House, was taken following an extensive review of alternative office accommodation options for the business throughout New Zealand as well as Waikato, including NZMP’s manufacturing site at Te Rapa.

NZMP managing director Chris Moller said the decision was a positive one for NZMP and the Waikato community.

“London Street will continue to remain the focus of the dairy industry in the Waikato region and will be home to some of our key core business functions.”

Mr Moller said it had taken longer to reach a decision on the future of NZMP London Street than expected, but it was imperative a full review of alternative accommodation options was completed.

The building will require modifications to accommodate a greater number of staff than have been previously been based at the office.

London Street will house NZMP’s Shared Services business, which provides financial systems support to NZMP and will be the largest of its type in the country. It also becomes the new base for the small team of NZMP’s Global Manufacturing and Milk Supply senior managers.

NZMP’s extensive computer datacentre will now be consolidated at London Street from the three existing datacentres in Wellington, Hamilton and Hawera.

NZMP is Fonterra Co-operative Group’s global ingredients business. It is responsible for the entire cow-to-consumer value chain from milk collection, through manufacturing and logistics operations and ultimately to the marketing of quality ingredients to customers around the world.
