Singapore Airlines Lands Coveted OAG Award

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has won the coveted OAG Airline Of The Year award for the fourth time. It was presented to Mr Vijendran Alfreds, SIA’s General Manager for the UK and Ireland, at a ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday night.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Awards, which are based on a questionnaire completed by a worldwide audience of OAG frequent business travellers. The results are independently verified by research company Taylor Nelson Sofres.

In addition to winning the Airline of the Year award, SIA was also named Best Airline Based In Asia, Best Trans-Pacific Airline, and the Airline With The Best Executive/Business Class.

SIA’s performance record at the annual OAG Airline of the Year Awards is unparalleled. It has been ranked first or second no fewer than 17 times in the past 20 years.

OAG is the world's leading independent provider of travel information products and services, offering business travellers, corporations and the global travel industry the information necessary to make effective travel-planning decisions. The OAG brand has evolved from the 1993 merger of the UK-based business travel information provider ABC with the Official Airline Guides in the US.

SIA has also picked up two other awards in the past week. It was voted Best Airline by readers of the Belgian magazine, Voyages/Voyages – Elders & Anders, the second time that SIA has won this award since the survey began in 2000. SIA also collected an award for Best Airline Serving The Middle East at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards Ceremony in Dubai.
