Federated Farmers President Elected Unopposed

3 July 2002

Tom Lambie has been elected unopposed as President of Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc), Chief Executive Tony St. Clair, acting as Returning Officer advised today.

Mr Lambie is currently Vice President of the Federation and replaces Alistair Polson who has completed his three-year term.

The Lambie family property 'Spencerfield' is a 308-hectare market milk dairy farm at Pleasant Point, South Canterbury milking 650 dairy cows. The property has been fully Bio-Gro certified organic since 1991.

Mr Lambie has been Vice President of Federated Farmers since 1996, and was South Canterbury Provincial President 1994-1996, South Canterbury Provincial Vice-President 1992-1994 and South Canterbury Dairy Section Chairman 1987-1990.
