Navman NZ Ltd has been chosen for the Dream Team, an international initiative to encourage technological innovation.
The Dream Team, developed by Sharp, combines the marketing and technological expertise of companies from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and India, to develop one-stop solutions to customers around the region.
Navman was the first New Zealand company invited to join the Dream Team and its association has subsequently encouraged Deep Video Imaging to become involved.
Peter Maire, Navman President, says the Dream Team concept brings huge potential to manufacturers, linking them with potential partners and customers around the Asia Pacific region and opening new marketing channels.
"Through our association with other companies in the Dream Team, we have potential new customers in line for our GPS technology and we're in discussion with some off-shore manufacturing partners."
Mr Maire says the concept of closer co-operation amongst the chosen companies encourages the formation of reliable and mutually beneficial networks.
"Members of the Dream Team can adopt Sharp's key components like liquid crystal display and flash memory and the synergy gives companies the ability to start and roll one projects after another," he says.
Navman was
recently named NZ Supreme Exporter of the Year, and employs
more than 220 people globally.
